Dear Colleagues,

I am delighted to invite you to the second edition of the Mediterranean and North African Conference (MEDiNA), taking place from 29th September to 1st October 2025 at the Sheraton Hotel, Tunis, Tunisia. This landmark event is co-organized by the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) and the European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE) under the theme "Unlocking Frontiers: Sustainable Exploration and Innovation in the Mediterranean and North African Region".

The 2025 MEDiNA Conference is set to be a pivotal opportunity for professionals across the oil and gas industry and is expected to attract leading experts and innovators from IOCs, NOCs, academia, government agencies, and technology and service providers.

With an impressive number of abstracts submitted, the event will feature an extensive technical program including 12 oral technical sessions and approximately 60 posters, covering a broad spectrum of topics focused around 13 technical themes which include: Hydrocarbon Provinces in Mediterranean & North Africa; Sedimentary Basin Geodynamics; Unconventional Hydrocarbon Plays; Peri-Mediterranean Thrust Plays; Advances in Geophysics; Advances in Drilling and Borehole Integrity; Energy Transition; Carbon and Energy Storage; AI Technologies and Investment Opportunities in MEDiNA Frontier Basins.

The conference will commence with an Opening Ceremony featuring high-level industry leaders from across the Mediterranean and North African Region. The program will also include two panel sessions, two pre-event short courses, and two post-event field trips, all exploring key themes in frontier exploration, integrated basin analysis, and regional petroleum systems.

An event of this scale is only possible due to the dedication and hard work of the Technical Program Committee, supporting organizations and the army of volunteers who have worked tirelessly to make this event a success. Above all, we owe a debt of gratitude to our session presenters and their employers for sharing invaluable examples of geoscience, engineering and energy related projects from across around the region.

I am very confident that the 2025 MEDiNA Conference will provide an excellent platform for all of us to exchange ideas and share valuable knowledge with fellow professionals and for our industry to overcome the challenges and improve business efficiencies.

I look forward to meeting you in Tunis and are confident that this joint AAPG-EAGE event will be both memorable and an invaluable experience for all who attend.

Sincerely,
Dalila Chebbi Bouattour
